Vivox bringing voice to virtual meeting maker TVN
Online voice application maker Vivox Inc says it has been chosen by The Venue Network Inc. (TVN), a North Carolina-based startup company developing online virtual meeting space technology.
TVN is a media startup in closed beta testing of on-demand virtual venues where presenters can share content and customize virtual events for online attendees. No financial details of the deal were disclosed.
The latest addition to Framingham-based Vivox's client roster comes about one month after Sony Online Entertainment LLC picked Vivox to provide the voice applications for its online games, including the massively multiplayer online role-playing games Everquest and Star Wars: Galaxies.
Vivox was founded in 2005 by its CEO Rob Seaver, COO James Toga and chairman Jeff Pulver, who is also founder of PulverMedia and the Voice on the Net trade show series. The privately held company has raised $13.8 million in two funding rounds. Vivox customers include Second Life maker Linden Lab, CCP Games, Icarus Studios, K2 Network, Pixel Mine Games, Wizards of the Coast and others.
